Sex Offender Registration
The Sex Offender Registry may be accessed online, through CBI: Sex Offender Registry.
This website does not list all convicted sex offenders in Colorado.
The CBI does not post information concerning (1) sex offenders only convicted of misdemeanor sex offenses, or (2) juveniles adjudicated for sex crimes.
In 2005, with the passage of Colorado Revised Statue 16-22-110, the Colorado Sex Offender registry was revised. The general assembly recognized the need to balance the expectations of persons convicted of offenses involving unlawful sexual behavior and the public's need to adequately protect themselves and their children from these persons. Victim information is not included on this website. For complete details pertaining to the Colorado Sex Offender Registry Law, click on Colorado Statute Manager and enter a Search for CRS 16-22-111.
The Colorado Bureau of Investigation (CBI) maintains this site and evaluates the accuracy and integrity of all sexual offender registration records to determine if the data fulfills the minimum requirements for all Internet postings. These records are updated hourly and will be posted to the website as soon as they are available. If you believe any information found in these records is incorrect or if you have any questions, please contact CBI's Program Support Unit at (303) 239-4222. You may also email Program Support, or you can contact your local law enforcement agency. Please note some information related to sex offenders is not available on this website; for a more extensive list of information, contact CBI's Program Support Unit at the above phone number or e-mail. Also, if you are unable to acquire sex offender registry information from a local police department, you may contact the CBI for assistance.
The CBI also has a tip line for citizens to report the possible location of a sex offender who has failed to register. You may call the tip line at (303) 239-5732 or your local law enforcement agency to report this information. If an emergency exists, please dial 911.
To determine if a registered sex offender works at a specific business, please contact your local law enforcement agency or the CBI at (303) 239-4222.
The CBI website lists only those offenses or convictions that require a sex offender to register (per Colorado Revised Statute). Sex offenders who are listed as a "Multiple Offender" may have additional criminal history listed on the Sex Offender website; however, the website may not contain a full criminal history for every offender. If you suspect there are additional criminal history convictions not listed on the website, you may purchase a more complete criminal history at Colorado Bureau of Investigations.
