Public Records Requests

The City of Fort Lupton is ready to assist with requests for public records. Public records open to inspection under the Colorado Open Records Act (CORA) (C.R.S. 24-72-201 et seq.) include books, papers, maps, photographs, electronic mail, and other written materials. In order for it to be considered a public record, it must be maintained by the entity you are contacting. A research and retrieval fee may apply to lengthy requests.

Request Timeline

Under CORA, the city has three business days from the time a request is received to make the record available for review to the requestor. In some instances an extension is necessary, if the requested information will take longer than three days to complete. In this case, the requestor would be notified of the request extension. If citizens wish to view the public records without receiving a copy, there is no charge. If copies are being requested a $0.25 per page charge for copying will be assessed.

Requests should be as detailed as possible including date, type of record, etc. Please review CORA prior to making a request.

City of Fort Lupton records are available online and easily searchable through the Public Records Portal powered by Laserfiche. The following types of records are available for search:
